What is a CSA and Why join one?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, a program designed to connect local farms with the people who eat their food. By joining a CSA, you invest in a share of the farm’s harvest before the growing season begins, helping farmers get started in spring and grow better, more abundant crops.

In return, members receive fresh, seasonal produce throughout the season, picked at peak ripeness for maximum flavor and nutrition.

Supporting a CSA also means you’re buying local. The average food in the U.S. travels about 1,300 miles from farm to table. By eating locally grown food, your produce is fresher, naturally ripened, and packed with more nutrients than items shipped long distances.

What to Expect from Our CSA:

Our Spring/Summer CSA runs for 14 weeks, from early June through the end of August. Members pick up their share each week using our farmers market–style setup, where you’ll be able to choose from that week’s harvest.

We aim to offer a variety of at least five vegetables at each pickup, allowing you to build a share that fits what you and your family enjoy cooking and eating. Throughout the season, members can expect a rotating selection of fresh, naturally grown vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, kale, bok choy, cabbage, snap peas, beans, radishes, salad turnips, tomatoes, peppers, and more, depending on what is ready in the field.

We carefully plan our crops each season to provide a wide variety of fresh produce for our CSA members. Each weekly share includes a rotating assortment of seasonal vegetables.

Spring: mostly leafy greens such as lettuce, arugula, and cabbage, along with root crops like radishes, turnips, and carrots.

Summer: tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet corn, occasional root vegetables, leafy greens, and other seasonal favorites.

What a Typical CSA Week Might Look Like

Each week’s harvest changes depending on what is growing best in the fields, but here’s an example of what might be available during a mid-season pickup:

• Head lettuce
• Kale or spinach
• Snap peas or green beans
• Radishes or salad turnips
• Tomatoes or peppers

Members select their vegetables farmers market–style and choose quantities based on their share size.

Share Sizes

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can’t make a pickup?
If you’re unable to make your scheduled pickup, we recommend asking a friend or family member to pick up your share for you.

Do I get to choose what vegetables I receive?
Yes! Our CSA is farmers market–style, which means you’ll be able to choose your vegetables from what is available that week based on your share size.

What if I’m new to cooking with seasonal vegetables?
That’s perfectly okay. Many members enjoy trying new vegetables and recipes throughout the season. Eating seasonally is a great way to expand what you cook and eat.

Are the vegetables grown on your farm?
Yes. The vegetables included in your share are grown right here on our farm using organic, regenerative farming practices. We focus on building healthy soil and growing nutrient-dense food, and we do not till our soil, which helps protect soil structure, support beneficial organisms, and improve long-term soil health.
